Illegal Hours at the Wooden House.-D. Morgan, the landlord of a beerhouse known as the Wooden House," was charged by Superintendent Lloyd with selling beer during prohibited hours, on the morning of Sunday, the 20th of June.- The case was proved by Jane Lewis, who stated that she went to the Wooden House on the morning of Sunday, the 20th of June, and there found her husband and some other men; it was about three o'clock in the morning, and there was beer on the table at the time.- Defendant admitted that beer was given to some men about three o'clock on Sunday morning, the 20th of June. Fined 5s. and costs. At the termination of the meeting, the police were hospitably entertained by Mr Hugh Hughes, clerk to the magistrates.
