Illegal Hours. David Morgan, of the Wooden House, beerhouse-keeper, was charged by P.C. J. Lewis with keeping open the public house during prohibited hours on Sunday, the 19th April. The police officer said that on Sunday, at half past three o'clock in the afternoon, he called at the Wooden House, when he heard some one saying "Police." The door was locked, and he could not gain admittance until he went to the back door, when he saw a woman removing glasses half full of beer from the tables in the front room to the back kitchen. He afterwards saw four men running away from the direction of the house. The woman who was in charge of the house admitted the offence, and defendant was fined £1 and costs.
