THE ODYNITES CLUB. The members of this society, met at Alltyrodin Arms, on Tuesday morning, in order to hold their anniversary assemblage, when after having arrayed themselves in their costumes for the day, they proceeded with a band of music and numbers of accompanying spectators, towards Panhydefaid chapel, where the annual sermon was preached by the Rev. John Jones, Baptist Minister, Llandyssil. The discourse was short but excellent, and gave general satisfaction. From the chapel the members returned to the Alltyrhodin Arms, where a sumptuous dinner was provided, which reflected great credit upon the host and hostess, Mr. S. Jones, and his sister, Miss M. Jones. Thomas Thomas, Esq Llanfair, was elected to the chair, he having previously honoured the society by uniting himself to it as an honorary member. After drinking the health of different parties, several excellent addresses were delivered by the members including of course the Corsyfran address in the usual eulogistic style. Thanks were given to the chairman and the host and hostess for their attention, and the party broke up about 7 o'clock in the evening. Suffice it to say, that unanimity, hilarity, and sobriety, marked the whole proceedings of the day. Since its formation, this society has made rapid progress in this neighbourhood, its members have been multiplied, its funds increased, and its influence extensively felt; and that it may increase tenfold, is the sincere and earnest wish of every benevolent mind. It may be remarked that this society assumed its appellation out of respect to its founder and great supporter during his life, the late deceased and respected J. Lloyd, Esq., Alltyrodin.
