CARDIGAN. A PUBLICAN FINED. On Monday, at the .borough petty-sessions before Messrs Thomas Harris and William Woodward-Superintendent Williams preferred a charge of keeping a licenced house open for the sale of intoxicating liquors on Sunday, the 7th inst, against David Griffiths, landlord of the Bear inn, Pwllhay, Cardigan. P.C. Lewis Davies and P.C. Richard Jones proved that they watched the house on the day in question, and saw between 20 and 25 persons entering a passage leading to the back door of the house between 9 a.m. and 9 p. m. A previous conviction having been put in,a fine of £4 and 10s 6d costs was inflicted, the landlord being cautioned that if he offended again the licence would be endorsed.
