The nearest licensed house was the Castle Inn, Bridge End, and was about 100 yards distant. There were seven licensed houses within 200 yards of the Liverpool Arms. The Castle Inn had four rooms on the ground floor and five bedrooms. It also had a large yard and large stables. The rateable value of the house was £ 15 5s. The Castle Inn was larger and more convenient, than the Liverpool Arms
