ABERYSTWITH. STEALING A PIANO. On Tuesday last, at the Town-hall, before R. Edward, Esq., Mayor, and J. C. Hughes, Esq. Anthony Martin was brought up in custody of P.S. Beynon, of the county of the borough of Carmarthen, charged with having stolen a piano, the property of Anthony Brackey, music seller, Chester. It appeared that the accused had hired a piano from the prosecutor at the rate of 2s. 6d. per week, but he ultimately absconded and took the piano with him, and sold it to Mr. Lewis Lewis, of the Neptune, in this town for £3. He was apprehended at Carmarthen and taken before the Mayor, who remitted him to this court, in order to obtain the evidence of Lewis and others. After hearing the evidence, the accused was committed to the next Quarter Sessions to be held at Aberayron.
