Transcript:
LLANON. PUBLIC HOUSES.-We do not frequently have much reason to complain about drink and its effects in this place. In this matter it has always been ahead of some places not very far from us, and we think it has improved steadily during the last fifteen years or so. At one time we had no less than nine public houses, but at present there remain only five of them. This must he a source of pleasure to all the friends of temperance, and it is said that of the five remaining, one is soon going to give up the licence and to be turned into a private house. There are still plenty left for all good purposes, and we hope that the number will keep on decreasing yet further.
