Notes:TEA AND ENTERTAINMENT. The children of St Mary's Band of Hope were entertained to tea, presided over by Mrs Evans, Vicarage, who was assisted by a host of helpers. In the evening, an entertainment was given by a number of children to a large and appreciative audience. The progamme was made up of instrumental music, choruses, recitations, dialogues, &c. As a result, the meeting was a proof of the ennobling and elevating influence brought to bear on the children of Mary's by the Vicar and his faithful assistants. The farce, A Sixpenny |Wire," a chorus, and the singing of "God Save the King," concluded entertainment. CN 15 May 1903
