CARDIGAN. PETTY SESSIONS.—Monday, June, 23rd (before Levi James, Esq., mayor, and T. Davies, Esq.) Infringing the Excise Laws.— Margaret Evans, of the New Inn, Cardigan, was summoned by Samuel Betton, an Inland Revenue officer, for having brewed five bushels of malt without entering the same on the paper provided by the authorities, on the 291h March last. Fined £50 and costs, but the magistrates recommended that the penalty should be reduced to £5. AO 28 June 1873

DEATHS. EVANS. On the 10th inst., at William-street, in this town, after a short illness, Mrs. Margaret Evans, New Inn, mother of Capt. David Evans, Greenfield-row, aged 70 years—Deceased had, by her kind and generous spirit, deeply endeared herself to all who ever knew her, and her death will be sincerely mourned by a large circle of acquaintances.
