Summary: This was formerly a Wesleyan Methodist chapel (built 1880) and the adjacent Sunday school (built 1903) on the site of the Three Jolly Sailors pub. Many of the original fittings and decoration have been preserved.

"Time capsule" from the foundations of St. Paul's Methodist chapel, now a public house in upper Great Darkgate Street, Aberystwyth, found when the chapel was being converted into The Academy public house.

I took a group of Dutch visitors to this pub on the afternoon Wales won the Triple Crown (rugby). The old chapel was filled with very excited fans, appropriately dressed in rugby kit, watching the match on a large screen. Quite a contrast to the intention of the builders of the chapel.
