Summary: After 1862 the Wesleyans appear to have supported Market Tavern, kept by Griffith James. It is not quite clear what house they went too before that date. They do not appear to have a publican prominent amongst their members till then.

"Mr John Edwards, landlord of the Market Tavern, in this town, dug new potatoes in his garden a fortnight since. " AO 6 June 1868

Oddfellows moved to the Market Tavern in 1890 after being given notice to quit by the Prince Albert. Cmn Jnl 28 March 1890
