Transcript:IRREGULAR CONDUCT. The Police v. Jane Rowlands. P. C. Hayes, sworn On Monday, the 4th inst., Mrs Beyston complained to witness that there was a disturbance at the Black Lion." This was about 12 at night. Witness went there, and found the door was closed. Heard loud voices inside. Witness demanded to be admitted, but could not obtain admission. The ''Black Lion" is kept by Mrs Jane Rowlands. Did not see any one come out of the house. Beyston, his wife, and a servant girl were in a shed adjoining listening The real charge against the defendant was her refusal to admit the constable. Dismissed with a caution.
