Description: Transcript:TEMPERANCE. We are pleased to learn that a new start has been made in the direction of furthering temperance principles in this town, by the organization of what is termed the Cardigan Temperance Provident society. At a meeting held in the Temperance Hall, on Tuesday evening last, a constitution and code of rules were formulated, and it is expected that the society will be in full swing in a week or two. The move to confine temperance principles with a benefit society is certain to prove successful.
