Unlawfully Slaughtering - David Hopkins, lessee of the slaughter-house charged Jenkin Richards, butcher, Cilcennin, with unlawfully slaughtering and dressing a calf at Aberystwyth, at a place other than the public slaughter-house. - The complainant said Jenkin Richards admitted to him that the calf had been slaughtered at the Butcher's Arms, on Saturday, when he went up to find out how it was that the calf had not been brought to the slaughter-house. Defendant said that the calf was brought to town and had been injured by being kicked by another animal. On finding that the animal would die he put a knife into it but did not offer it for sale. - Case dismissed.
