CARDIGAN. THE HALF-HOLIDAY MOVEMENT. In accordance with the memorial, the weekly half-holiday was closely observed on Wednesday evening, in the past week. All the business establishments were universally closed at three o'clock punctually, and the day was extremely fine, the first half-holiday having been inaugurated by Queen's weather, greatly to the satisfaction of all shop employers, and others, who were the benefitters of the half-holiday. The great rendezvous where all wended to enjoy the evening, was the seaside, at Gwbert, a place greatly frequented by all seaside visitors, on account of its convenient bathing places, and the healthy nature of the ambient breezes. The Good Templars of this town, had erected a tent near the sands, where all necessary victuals were sold, so as to avoid resorting to Gwbert public-house. The place was well patronised by the Templars, and will, no doubt, be a source of great good. Our hope is that nothing will occur to prevent these holidays to be continued in the future.
