REFUSING TO QUIT.
Peter Casey, a tinker, was charged with refusing to
quit the Bridge End Inn on the 30th.
P.C. Lewis deposed to being called to the Bridge
End Inn on the evening in question, where he found
the defendant beating a militia man most unmerci-
fully, and he refused to quit the house when re-
quested by the officer and the landlady.
P.C. Daniel Jones deposed to being called to the
Commercial Inn on the night of the 1st May to turn
defendant out, and he had to forcibly eject him with
the assistance of P.C. 20.
Defendant, who did not appear, was fined 2s 6d
and costs in each case, or 14 days with hard labour.
