Description: Summary of a dinner of the club held on 1st Jan

Transcript:
CLUB FEAST.—January 1st being the day of the annual feast of the "Cwch Gwenyn" club, which meets at the Monarch Inn, Tregaron, the members carrying the flag of the society in front of the procession, proceeded to the Vicarage, led by a brass band from Aberystwyth, thence back to the church, where the Vicar (who is also treasurer of the club) delivered an appropriate sermon. After the service was over, they marched to the Monarch Inn to partake of a dinner prepared by Mrs Owens. Afterwards the accounts of the club were read, shewed the society to be in a flourishing state. Several persons were proposed for membership, who will be duly received on Friday evening. It was agreed that meetings of the club should henceforth be held in the National School Room, and not as heretofore at the Monarch Inn, as Mr John Owens, the late secretary, and landlord of Monarch Inn, was going to leave the district. Mr. J. Dewi Williams has been appointed his successor.
