Notes:The Mid Wales Hotel Company took over the bankrupt Hafod Hotel Company. Both companies owned the Queen's Hotel, Aberystwyth and the Hafod Hotel, Devil's Bridge and J.B. Balcombe was their managing director. In 1876 The Hafod Hotel was bought by John Waddingham of Hafod (when Balcombe became bankrupt again?)
