Notes:Although mainly a religious denomination, it is worth including the Salvation Army here because of their influence on the Temperance movement.



They arrived in Aberystwyth in 1882, and used the Temperance Hall for meetings. They were also in Cardigan.



Of particular interest is that the two officers responsible for the initial campaign in Aberystwyth were both women - Capt Isabella Hall and Lt. Jenny Latimer. The Cardigan group were led by Capt Lizzie Brown.
