Notes: Reported in the Church of England Convocation Committee Report on Intemperance (1869) as being one of fourteen parishes in Cardiganshire with neither a public house or a beer-house. This is not entirely inaccurate as the Penrhiwpal Inn in Penrhiwpal (within the parish) was already open in 1845 and didn't close until 1917.
