Notes: Taliesin is a modern village. Most of it was built in the 1820s-1830s after common land on the edge of Cors Fochno (Borth Bog) was sold to pay for the partial draining of the bog.
However, there was a settlement there before. Only about half-a-dozen houses spread out along the turnpike road, but with the interesting name of 'Tafarn Fach', which rather implies that one of them was a tafarn. The settlement was renamed in the late 1820s(?) but the old name is retained in the wood above the village, Coed Tafarn Fach.
