Details of pub: Nanteos Arms, Aberystwyth
Other names: Address/Location: Great Darkgate Street
OS Grid Ref: SN5823681636
Opened: before 1816
Closed: c. 1872
Type: Pub
Summary: The two addresses given for this pub suggest that it was on the corner of Pier Street and Great Darkgate Street. The complaint in 1868 implies that 3 Pier Street is connected to the back of the Nanteos Arms. The OS maps suggest that Nanteos Arms would therefore have been at 43 Great Darkgate Street. It and 3 Pier Street have now been demolished and are the site of the little garden opposite the Clock.

Mr Lloyd explained that the Nuisance Act was very stringent, and one individual could compel another to remove such nuisance. The bench advised Mr Mitchell to remove the cause of complaint.
